Architecture + Film

Before we enter to today's topic , let me introduce you all a pixal movie call , Wall-e . I think most of the people still remember this wonderful movie.

So , about Wall-e , this movie was released on june 23 2008 , the duration of the movie was about one and a half hour long.

So below is the tralier of this wonderful movie , enjoy :)

WALL-E, short for Waste Allocation Load Lifter Earth-class, is the last robot left on Earth. He spends his days tidying up the planet, one piece of garbage at a time. But during 700 years, WALL-E has developed a personality, and he's more than a little lonely. Then he spots EVE (Elissa Knight), a sleek and shapely probe sent back to Earth on a scanning mission. Smitten WALL-E embarks on his greatest adventure yet when he follows EVE across the galaxy.

First of all , i have to say that during that time this movie really had impressed me a lot . Not to say just for the plot and everything , but the quality of the animation was very excellence at during 2008 . Starting from the very begining , it was great that you don't even need to try blend yourself into the movie setting , i felt like i was really fitting myself into the setting , which is the end of the world that created by the director .

I believe most of the people when heard about the end of the world don't really have any more emotion into it , because we used to heard about the end of the world. One thing that really suprise me was , yes , the movie itself was on a setting which is the end of the world , but i never and ever will relate the end of the world with whole world of junk and rubbish . Even the ' building ' in the Earth you saw was all built by those junk and rubbish . So from here i am really feel wow about the architecture inside the movie , they managed to use those junk and think of a brand new environment that ever happen in the Earth that we live . As we know , in Wall-e , all human being was forced to leave the Earth because due to the heavy pollution that cause all the living things cannot survice in the environment . In this case , it managed to catch people's emotion to blend or fitting themselves into the movie without and single word .

Written by Stanton and Jim Reardon, it's set 700 years in the future on an Earth abandoned by human beings. Centuries earlier, the place became so toxic with waste that a mega-corporation called Buy N Large used airliners to fly inhabitants to outer space where, gorging themselves on soda drinks, popcorn and crummy entertainment, they've degenerated into gurning fatsos barely able to move.

So we wait for the main character , Wall-e debut . Until this point , the movie still in a very quiet environment and did not have any conversation or dialogue , but the cleverness of using a machine to interact with a worm and there are occasional ads that play to outline what is happening in this world . So , by one and one mysteries solved , we know that the world is 700 years forward since there was the end of the world and the little machine that we saw , still collecting rubbish and running with his very own mission----find the sign that prove to the human can come back to Earth again.

From here , from the world full of rubbish until the machine that collecting junk , the director created a very nice environment and the relationship between the city and the machine bring the movie to another of level of story telling . Through this , it makes all of the audiance have a very strong of curiousity about how will the story goes on and a lot of looking forward to the movie .

Then, one day, a fem-robot called EVE (Extraterrestrial Vegetation Evaluator, voiced by Elissa Knight) is sent to Earth by the mega-corp . So , from here it 's like the second paragraph for the movie. It seems confused don't know what axatually this new girlish kind of machine came here for what . As continue watching , mystery solved, she originally was looking for a plant . Despite her initial hostility, he falls in love with her and when she returns home aboard a spaceship he makes sure he's on it. After the plant has found , Eve turn into power saving mode to keep the plant alive , so she shut down herself , from here we can saw that how wall-e taking good care of her . After she ' woke up ' both of the chracter starting another new advanture in the NOA-----AXIOM , Soon, they find themselves triggering a rebellion among other robots and inspiring Captain McCrea (Jeff Garlin) to return to Earth so that amends can be made for all the previous destruction. and then until both of them complete their mission and going back to Earth to rebuilt new home with human.

Lastly ,

The heart of the film, and the source of its most inspired, bewitching scenes, is its first half hour. There's no dialogue, just a series of bleeps, whirrs and squeaks - like a cross between the Smash potato robots and a soundtrack hatched up by the BBC Radiophonic Workshop. WALL·E gently motors across a parched earth full of faded street signs and collapsed buildings, heat and pollution, rendering the atmosphere dust-caked and poisonous red.

It's in this half hour that we see Lasseter's ideas about the relationship between movement and thought to full effect. This strange creature chugs along, occasionally tickled by his cockroach. Then, after EVE's arrival, he alternately puts a stone on his head to protect himself from her laser and leads her to his living quarters. As he does so, we completely forget that we're looking at pixels and algorithms.

There's barely a scene that isn't jewelled with a sight, amusing conceit, or delicate detail. I laughed like a drain when WALL·E nervously hands EVE a sheet of the bubble-wrap he rescued during his rounds, only to see her pop it all in a split-second, as well as when she solves the Rubik's Cube he's offered her, at such speed that he's left baffled.
