The Avatar
Avatar is a 2009 American epic science fiction film directed, written, produced, and co-edited by James Cameron. The story was set on 2154, humans have depleted Earth's natural resources, leading to a severe energy crisis. The Resources Development Administration, RDA for short, mines for a valuable mineral – unobtanium – on Pandora.
Pandora a densely forested habitable moon orbiting the gas giant Polyphemus in the Alpha Centauri star system. Pandora, whose atmosphere is poisonous to humans, is inhabited by the Na'vi, 10-foot tall (3.0 m), blue-skinned, sapient humanoids who live in harmony with nature and worship a mother goddess called Eywa.
Jake Sully was sent to the Pandora by replacing his mind into a Navi human hybrid body (Avatar).His mission was get closed with the aborigines in The Pandora and help RDA collect the valuable mineral from the Pandora.
However, Jake Sully changed his mind and willing from helping the RDA after he get closed with the Avatar. He try to fight back together with the avatar from the aggression of the people.
The most important part of this movie which inspire the most was the setting of the movie. The movie timeline was set on the future which the human having the issue of shortage of the resources. The issue is so familiar that we had met nowsdays. The movie skillfully reflect the phenomenon of the shortage of the petrol in the real life. The people try to use the advanced technologies encroach the valuable resources from the Pandora and also destroy the peaceful environment and home of the Avatar.
The war between the human and the avatar reflex Westward Movement which is really happened in the American. The movie use the story and the war scene to remind back the audiences from avoiding the same mistake which might happend in the future.
The Pandora Planet was set with a lot of beautiful creatures and fantastic landscape which truly reflect the beauty of nature. The movie used the hyperbolic way to show the marvelous of the nature. The luminous design of the creatures and animals show the beauty on the exaggerate way.
The robots the advanced technologies become the weapons of the human to destroy the naure. This had reflex the phenomena that people might mistake on using the technology. The technology might give the people a lot of benefits and convinience, but the robot might also be used on the wrong way and it could be a deadly weapons to harm the nature, peaceful and our home.
The tribe of the Pandora planet had inspired me that the unity of people could be very strong on protecting our homeland. They are willing to sacrifice themselves to protect their planet from the aggression of the human.
There are a lot of issues which we had met nowsaday. And they are directly show on this movie with the dramatical way. Those presenting skill are fabulous and marvelous to catch the attention of the audience.This movie had deeply inspired me to rethink again the use of the technologies and appreciate the beauty which is given by the nature.
