Distinctive Change of the Old and New
As for me, I like a mix of both. What we can see on the old architecture, are the impressive craftsman skills, organic shape and the use of materials. They used their craft skills to make beauty façades that will make people tend to touch it and feel it. Besides that, we also can see the hard work they paid on a single building.

Look on the facades they created, it is really that impressive that we can’t find anymore in present architecture. From old buildings, it seem like have a lot of memories and stories that wanna to tell us, about their creators and what happened on it. What I feel from that is the designers or craftmen doesn’t care about how much it cost or how much they will get paid, they just want to create something impressive art that will make people can feel it and appreaciate it. They also designed with enthusiasm and made sure everything were in details. As a simple column, they also craft it with details. Compare to the present cube columns.

I am really admire to them about create something best without the advanced technology at that time, but they still determine to make it by their own hands. Actually, we never can’t expect how long the time taken to build something like that impressive, but with their patience, they built heartily on a building and doesn’t care about the duration.

At the present, our architecture is going to become modern style, which are simple and clean. From the modern architecture, it feel like more free and doesn’t have the heavy feeling as the old architecture. I think is because of the impressive craft facades filled with ornaments are now replaced by the modern simple style. However, I felt that with the existance of advanced technologies, people nowadays doesn’t seems to be appreciating art and craft like the old days anymore.
They are more to simple and clean design and play more on the dramaticaly form of the buildings. Buildings become more futuristic and organic rather than bulky and heavy. Modern architecture also differ from the old architecture with the building material used. There is more building materials to play with other than just brick and stone. For instant, people built their house or even restaurant with metal containers. With the technologies improving everyday, 3D printer is also invented to change the now and future architecture approach. Cost and time can be saved dramatically compared to constructions on site.

Practically, I think technologies has changed the old and new architecture design very much. I often question myself, does all these technologies makes human more lazy in making art and craft? Well, we can afterall just factory produce these or even better now, just print it.
